I Know I Can Make You Laugh

I am an aspiring screenwriter living on a small pension. For years I worked as a magazine editor in Chicago, but I've retired from the rat race. I've been divorced for over twenty years, and have two great kids in college on the east coast. I've also published four books. (3 Science Fiction, 1 Fantasy). Qualities I'm most admired for are my intelligence and quick wit. I'm also the friend that people go to when they need to confide in someone, because I tend to be non-judgmental, and compassionate. When my kids lived with me and their friends were around the house, I tended to be adopted as the neighborhood Dad. I've never found it hard to like children and I've got on with them at all ages. Even the teenagers like me because I take the time to listen to them and I don't disrespect their feelings. Sometimes they even listen to me in return. My faults are that I'm somewhat of an absent-minded professor at times. I've been known to be so involved in a project that I forget mealtimes. Oh, and even though I can be a serious individual, I just can't help but see the humorous side of any situation. I have to bite my tongue alot, because the one-liner that just poppep into my head is completely inappropriate I like intelligent women with an independent spirit. I'm looking for a best friend and a partner. I've had relationships in the past that were all one-sided, because I'm fairy giving. I'm tired of the gold-diggers (newsflash I don't have any), and the emotionally needy who have to have my constant attention to keep their lives from spinning out of control (try God, I'm not Him). It's ok to have some baggage as long as you are willing to meet me half way. You must be willingly to take care of me as much as you are willing to allow me to take care of you.
